Lifting Them Up

Purpose:

The sole purpose of this program is to build, promote, and generate a greater self-image by building self-esteem and by helping each young woman to learn how to love herself.

Mission:

Is to become a positive force of motivation which will allow each young woman in the program to think more positively, with a motivation to succeed.

We intend to spread the good news of how beautiful our young women are and support the efforts centered on helping African American young women ages 10 years old through 19 years old years old through various forms of self-esteem building.

Objectives:

  • To arouse each young lady's motivation so that she becomes personally involved and interested in pursuing their positive dreams and goals.

  • To help each young lady develop new patterns of thinking which will be reflected in changes in attitude and behavior

  • To broaden each young woman's horizon by exposing her to new experiences, people, and places.

      Know Yourself

  • A real woman doesn't haveto worry about being a dime because a real man doesn't carry change anyway...

Secure Your Future

  • If you have no confidence in self you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence you have won even before you have started.

God's Creation

  • Always love who you are because you are by design (fearfully and wonderfully made)

LOVE IS LOVE

  • The girl you just called fat? She is overdosing on diet pills. The girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her. The boy you just tripped? He is abused enough at home. See that man with the ugly scars? He fought for our country. That guy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying.

Best Friends

  • A true best friend doesn't care when you're being a jerk, what you weigh, what you wear, if your house is a mess, what you drive, about your past, or if your family is filled with crazy people. The conversations pick up where they left off, even if they have been years apart. They love you for who you are
